Thom-Yaam-Theen-Gai/ Theen-Gai Super is a most common name for this dish nowadays. Don’t miss this dish when you visit Thailand. It been simmered for a while as the feet turn to be very tender . Also the outer layer of their skin had removed before cooking. Highly recommend !! 😬 2/12/2017 The girl in the window seat What a fun and epic way to be picked up by our cooking class teacher in a 1974 Volkswagen van!
That’s how awesome taking class at A Lot of Thai was. Aside from knowing the difference and importance of each ingredient to the magical science of flavour sequence, A Lot of Thai was able to serve as an avenue for my sister and I to bond and experience the best Chiang Mai could offer. Also, it taught us the art of cooking Thai food in an unconventional way and because of that, we fell in love with cooking even more and we can hardly wait to try cooking the dishes again. 30/11/2017 Appetite for discovery You might think, after reading of all these star studded appearances, that a trip to A lot of Thai Cooking School would be a commercialised, inauthentic, perhaps even impersonal experience. You might not believe that the woman I described above, is the same woman who shares her home in Chiang Mai with 3 generations of her family, picks you up from your hotel in her green 1967 Mazda 1500 (or her 1974 VW kombi van) and personally teaches all classes, 5 days per week. But, as one quick visit to Trip Advisor will confirm, you would be wrong.
30/11/2017 Food expectations A lot of Thai is the best cooking class in Chiang Mai. I guess I haven’t tried others but I don’t think any can be any better than this one! We booked a half day originally but very quickly realized we were having so much fun that we wanted to stay the entire day. The courses are different each day of the week and we lucked out on what our menu was. The wednesday menu had pad see yew but we ended up making Pad Thai instead, which is actually harder, and tastier.
